Texas Hill Country Estate Vineyards 2026 Harvest Update
We had an extremely varied harvest this year in respect to yields primarily due to a late frost in March after budbreak. Some varieties were a complete loss including all our white varietals and the Carignan. Despite the challenges, everything was high quality and matured very quickly.
Rain events, beginning in early spring through mid-June were light, intermittent, and nicely spaced giving quick drying breaks in between. An uncharacteristically mild season leading all the way into July with high temperatures rarely reaching vine shut down meant the vines were constantly metabolizing without major pauses.
Eventually, a week of heavy rains quenched the vines in mid-July which was perfect timing for a dry late season when temperatures ramped up to their Texan expectations. We ultimately harvested all of our estate fruit in good concentrated bagged condition and all with great balanced chemistries and rich color.
